Orbiter 1
Orbiter 1 was the first structured, non-development mission with the intended goal of fully stress testing the Prototype 101 platform. It used a modified Prototype 101 platform which featured parachutes at the top to allow a controlled decent.
The result of the Orbiter 1 mission was satisfactory in testing and evaluating Prototype 101's flight-readiness with the platform successfully able to establish a stable orbit around Kerbin along with de-orbiting and landing successfully.
The mission lasted T+01:05:09 with orbit established at T+00:07:26 and the de-orbiting retrograde burn performed at T+00:46:40. While liquid fuel in the final stage ran dry during the descent, the parachute system on board was capable enough to slow the craft down despite the pre-mature loss of fuel with a touchdown at sea happening with the craft staying in good structural condition.
